Being an introvert

(and how it led me to starting this blog!)

As an introvert and being a more quiet and reserved person I have always found it more diffiicult to say the things I want to say. I either feel like I can’t or I am just so used to keeping things to myself that it is just the norm for me. I will say though as I have gotten older I’ve learned to embrace that part of me. The quiet girl who yes, needs her alone time! Young Maddie would be proud of that.

Speaking of young Maddie, let me expose myself real quick.

Yup, that’s me at the ripe age of 12. Just by looking at me in this photo you can see the introvert crawling out of my skin. I will say two things however. The first being that I was indeed very proud of this outfit. I know for a fact that hot pink under shirt was from Justice (the girls who know, know). Second being that this was my first ever concert and who did I see you might ask? The one and only… Selena Gomez! Yes I was a huge Selena Gomez fan then and I am still to this day a Selena Gomez fan.

Anyways, looking at this picture makes me cringe a tad and that reason being for how insecure and shy I was. (I still get insecure and I can be shy still but the growth from 12 to 22 is huge!). 12 year old Maddie would have never envisioned herself starting a blog. It’s way out of her comfort zone! Yet somehow starting a blog makes all the sense in the world? I get to be as creative as I would like and actually talk about things I enjoy and use my voice! Such a neat concept.

The goal is to keep growing and to keep embracing who I am as an introvert. This blog is apart of that growth. My hope is that you the reader might be able to relate and to also embrace the introvert part of you! And to do something that sparks your interest.

That’s all for now. I’m sure I’ll come back to the topic of being an introvert in the future.
